Song Meaning of “The Prince” by Madness
The Prince by Madness tells the story of a young man who feels trapped in a cycle of darkness, unable to escape the apathy and darkness that engulfs him. He tries to find solace in his dreams, but his attempts are often fruitless as his darkness is too powerful to escape from. He finds himself in a dark and unfamiliar world and realizes he has to fight to break free from his prison. He must stand up for himself and take what he deserves if he wants to free himself from his current situation. He calls himself the prince, as he knows he will eventually find a way out of his misery and show others he has what it takes to make it in this world. He is strong-willed and determined to make something of himself and prove that, despite his darkness, he has greatness within him. He knows he is the only one who can make it through this difficult time and must do whatever it takes to unlock his inner strength, courage and potential. He may not have the power of a prince, but he has something even better: the spirit of a warrior.
