The protagonist is trapped in a wasteland of their own making, feeling an immense sense of loneliness and fear. In this isolation, they long desperately for something familiar, something safe, finding no comfort in their new surroundings.
However, just when the protagonist is at their lowest, an inner strength and courage arises and prevails; they are “so alive” to the beauty and possibilities of this new world. Inevitable though the struggle may have been, the protagonist has come away renewed and invigorated, having grown in their resiliency and tenacity despite the dark circumstances. Life is full of loss and setback, but through struggle, the fire within can never be extinguished, and one can come out the other side of a difficult journey feeling “so alive.”
