The song delves into the desperate, overwhelming feelings of someone stuck in a place of darkness with no hope in sight. As the lyrics describe, “I’m feeling like I’m stuck…I can’t get out, I can’t awaken from this place.” The person in the song is trying to break free from the numbness they feel, but their attempts so far have been fruitless.
This struggle does not keep them from dreaming of a better place away from their troubles, though.
