Song Meaning of “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane
White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane is a psychedelic song from the 60s about adapting drug use as a form of escapism from realities of life. It alludes to the Alice in Wonderland story and its use of psychedelic drugs as a way of opening up new possibilities.
The protagonist in the song is seemingly caught in the vicious cycle of hedonism and addiction as they rationalize their indulgence of drugs in everyday life. This idea is further reinforced by the line “Feed your head” which may be referring to the act of feeding one’s mind to the hallucinogenic realm of drugs.
